19thC Specimen Bookcase

From Sydney University, a handsome 19thC Australian Red Cedar, college specimen cabinet/bookcase in two parts. The upper section consists of a pair of imposing Georgian glazed doors that enclose a deep divided bookcase with adjustable shelving; the lower cabinet, a bank of eight dove-tailed drawers with brass label slots. The bookcase has original Victorian brass locks with new keys that lock the upper section. A fine piece of Australian furniture history and fabulous storage for collectors and bibliophiles.
