Antique Ansonia Mantel Clock

A classic mantle clock by the Ansonia Clock Co., New York, antique black cast iron, gilt design mantle clock; good condition, wear commensurate with age. 
Size: 255mm High x 240 mm Wide x 120 mm Depth

Influenced by the English Aesthetic Movement, this mantel clock has incised and gilt decoration and is set upon a stepped plinth base. The clock face features an enamel dial with hand-painted Roman numerals and a gilt-brass bezel with the original convex glass door. The key is taped to the back; it will need to be serviced and cleaned. 
Ansonia clock - The Ansonia Clock Company was a clock manufacturing business founded in Ansonia, Connecticut, in 1851 and moved to Brooklyn, New York, in 1878, it closed in 2006.
