Elements i love… is a little obsessive about collecting and curating. For more than twenty years we have been scouring the world bringing home antique elements that make interior spaces a little less ordinary. Now change has brought us to Byron Bay. Stitching another layer of history to an old warehouse in the Arts & Industrial Estate and doing it in the only way we know - using second-hand materials. We have created a purpose-built gallery space to house our curated collection of architectural elements, antiques, and decorative pieces. This unique space will soon be open to the public in a multitude of ways - showroom, gallery, events, and more.
If you have just discovered Elements i love, here's a little history….
Over time; the name and subsequently, the business has changed.
Forever evolving around a love of travel, nature, people & places and of course the thrill of our discoveries along the way.
Partners in life and work for more than twenty years, Brooke and Tim strive for the business to be an extension of their values. Buying and selling antiques at its core is a practice in recycling and reducing waste. The recent renovation of their old-new warehouse in the arts and industrial estate of Byron Bay has focused on this design ethos. They believe that a beautiful space does not have to come at the expense of sustainability. In an era of mass production and mass waste, Elements i love believes in investing in ageless and enduring pieces. Consciously consuming, whether buying new or old.
Brooke is the creative director behind Elements i love, she is a trained French polisher who has worked in antiques and restoration for the past twenty-five years. Her knowledge of restoration and finishes has remained a guiding tenant of the business when sourcing antiques here and abroad. Buying trips to France, Argentina and further afar are a constant source of inspiration, and in 2009 Brooke combined her personal passion for travel and photography when she started her blog Elements i love. Brooke has always been an aesthete (sometimes to everyone’s annoyance) and believes in a considered and curated approach to interior design. She has worked closely with select clients over the years.
Tim can be found behind the scenes, often involved in larger hands on restoration projects and creates original pieces from architectural salvage. He is chief executive officer of all thing’s admin dotting i's and crossing t’s as well as being a critical sounding board for creative ventures. On sourcing trips, the couple complement each other’s aesthetic. Tim gravitates towards architectural elements, balancing Brooke’s penchant for the decorative and objet d’art. They are often asked how do you work and live together? It’s not always roses and unicorns, but we wouldn't have it any other way!
